We have two Rocky Mountain Horse mares (half-sisters) who have always been barefoot. I do my own trimming. Although we don't have to use boots that often as their feet are in very good shape and can handle most terrain, we do put them on when we are riding in an area with which we are unfamiliar. We'd rather be safe than sorry, and we always carry our boots with us, just in case.
This photo was taken last fall when we were riding Hayes Canyon in the Shawnee National Forest, IL. The girls were fully outfitted with Original Old Mac's on their front feet and Easyboot Epics on their back feet.
The boots have never affected their smooth 4-beat saddle gait, and it was so wonderful to ride without having to worry about the sharp rocks causing stone bruises.
Pictured above is Gracie on the left and Caper on the right. Thanks for making such a great product and for helping so many horses!
