It's July already! What a busy summer we are having at EasyCare. This month we are going to be off to the most famous endurance ride of all - the Tevis Cup, where riders will ride 100 miles in one day! EasyCare will be helping with the webcast of the event. To celebrate we are going to have weekly website specials. Be sure to check the front page of our website weekly to see what the specials are!

If you haven't already heard about the EasyCare 2007 Summer Video Contest, click here to learn more. Now is your chance to make a video and become famous...errr, well maybe not famous. But you could win some great prizes, and have a lot of fun at the same time.

Starting in June, we expanded our EasyCare Hoof Boot Upgrade Program to include EasyCare boots. This is for a limited time only, so don't miss out on this special opportunity to try a different model of hoof boot. You can still trade in competitors boots too. All EasyCare boots that are returned (please return them to us CLEAN) will be donated to horse rescue and rehabilitation organizations.

The Barefoot Endurance Horse - Part 2

by Steven Roberts

In the previous article in Volume 1, we explored the reasons why you would choose to train and compete your endurance horse without traditional metal shoes nailed to its feet. Briefly, these reasons revolve around the fact that such shoes stop the hoof mechanism functioning, because the whole foot cannot expand and contract as it was designed to do. As a result, many of the common lamenesses are in fact caused, or contributed to significantly, by shoeing...

Helpful EasyCare Hoof Boot Tips

submitted by Heidi Meyer of Bridgewater, NH

Just had to send in a quick note. Knee high ladies nylons (the heavy duty kind) in a queen size will slide easily over whole hoof and when pulled up to fetlock then folded down, puts a nice breathable barrier between skin/heel bulbs, and coronet while booted. No more chafing from sand/debris and it will dry quickly if wet. Hope it helps :)

Thanks,

Lisa Ford, Gabrielle Wagner and Echo completed the 37th Annual World Championship Ride and Tie on June 16th. Five other horses used EasyCare hoof boots during the event.

If you can run and ride come out and compete in the exhilarating sport of Ride & Tie.

Gaited Horses and EasyCare Hoof Boots

submitted by Peggy Ambrosch

163[1].jpgI absolutely love my Easyboot Bares! I have gaited horses, and it is the only boot I have tried that does not interfere with their gaits.

They have stayed on through mud, snow and water, and I highly recommend them for gaited horses. My farrier suggested these boots, and Im so glad I listened!

Thank you!
