Peripheral Loading and the Pad Effect
by Yvonne Welz, The Horse's Hoof

Before I attended Dr. Robert Bowker's clinic in January, 2007, it never occurred to me that a healthy horse should have pads placed into their hoof boots. Or that a horse without sore hooves would benefit from a regimen of boots with pads! What I learned that weekend changed my mind completely, and I'd like to share that compelling information with you.

Helpful EasyCare Hoof Boot Tips
submitted by Jean Whipple, Columbus, OH

Gold Bond foot powder is helpful in getting the Boas on and off. It also clears up thrush and keeps the boots from rubbing the pasterns on horses who need to wear them continually.
Thanks for the tip, Jean! We'd like to get more tips from our favorite boot users. Just for fun I'll draw names and send out ten pairs of the new EasyCare gloves to our newsletter and blog readers who send a useful tip to us at this email address during the month of June.

Expanded Hoof Boot Upgrade Program
Boots to be donated to Rescue Organizations

We are going to be launching our new hoof boot upgrade and donations program in June. A couple of months ago we included EasyCare boots into the Hoof Boot Upgrade Program. Many of the boots being returned are in good shape and it would be shame for them not to be used. We are now going to be donating these boots to rescue organizations.
If you know of a rescue or rehab organization or group that could benefit from a donation of hoof boots please refer them to the donations request form on our website.
And, if you are thinking of trying a different hoof boot and have another brand or style of boot you'll know if you trade them in through the EasyCare Upgrade Program that they will be put to good use!
