- 2007 Hoof Boot Contest

|
We held a contest last month to name a new boot that EasyCare will be introducing to the public in 2007. We received more than 900 name suggestions! The name chosen is "Easyboot Grip". The winner of the contest is Helen Elsner. Helen will receive a $100 gift certificate from EasyCare and four of the new Easyboot Grip boots!
There is a link to an article by Neel Glass, the inventor of Easyboots, in this newsletter. I hope you will take the time to read it, realizing that it was written thirty (yes, 30!) years ago. It could have been written last week.
Our next contest will be for an entry to the upcoming Pete Ramey Clinic (the first three days, a $350.00 value) Click here to learn how to enter. EasyCare will be hosting this Pete Ramey clinic on, January 20-24, 2007, in Tucson, Arizona. Pete Ramey and Dr. Bowker, VMD, PhD will each do two days, with EasyCare using 1/2 a day to cover boot fitting. This will be an exciting event that you won't want to miss. |
Is Shoeing a Necessary Evil?
by: Neel W. Glass, Ph.D.

Horses have been shod by nailing on iron shoes for over a thousand years. However, shoeing can cause a variety of hoof problems, and the cliché’ “Shoeing is a necessary evil” is nearly as old as horseshoeing itself.

WOW!!! Easyboot Bares
We absolutely LOVE the new Easyboot Bares
We have a mixed integrated veterinary practice in Alpine, CA. We absolutely LOVE the new Easyboot Bares. What incredible support for the foot [both medial and lateral].
We have never seen a boot that could or did withstand the total abuse... that we put them through. We honestly set out to try to destroy the boots on really rough, rocky, and "untrailed" terrain.

Advanced Easyboot User Tips
from Karen's Endurance Musings Blog
Here is a photo of two of my best friends -- an Easyboot and a roll of duct tape! I just put together dozens of photos showing step by step how I prepare an Easyboot for use for long distance trail riding. The things I show in this photo album can be done to a regular Easyboot or an Epic (just don't trim down the back of the boot if you are using an Epic).
