nancy-reed-web.jpgI bought a supposed crazy untrainable gelding 3 1/2 yrs ago. I thought his energy and positive attitude would make him my kind of endurance horse. He had been a padded show stallion for years, and had iron shoes all his life. He had every kind of leg problem imaginable. But even in pain, he still had the will to go.

So for 3 yrs now he has gone barefoot with Easyboot Epics. His heels are no longer contracted, his fetlocks are not swollen, and I think most of his pain is gone. His hooves have gone up one size in Easyboots all around. We have shown, competed and won first place at parades, ran gymkanna, finished endurance races and ridden solo thousands of rocky trail miles in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, barefoot easybooted.

This fall, anticipating showing and competing for 2 months straight, I put iron shoes back on him. He quickly went lame again. When I pulled them off, part of the hoof wall came off too. So I thought I would have to give him the winter off. But when I put his Easyboots back on, he was happily ready to gallop down the trail.

I have just traded in his O's for some #2's so his front hooves can grow out again, and we can get back on the endurance trail. Easyboot epics have made it possible for this lame old ex-show gelding to live barefoot, and do what he loves best: to ride FAST.
