Easyboot Transition: About | Application | FAQ

Application

  1. Unhook the hook and loop straps at the front and rear of the boot.
  2. Completely fold down the rear section of the soft weave upper so it is flush with the back of the bumper.
  3. Facing the rear of your horse, pick up the hoof and slip it into the boot, toe first.
  4. Using technique as opposed to force, gently twist the boot until the hoof is completely in the boot and free of any obstruction.
  5. Pull the rear section of the soft weave upper completely over the heel bulb. Place the hoof on the ground to a weight-bearing position. Verify that the boot is fully seated on the hoof.
  6. Starting at the front of the boot, secure the hook and loop strap as tightly as possible. Use the rubber keeper at the end of the strap to keep the contact secure. The collar of the boot should be snug all the way around the pastern bone.
  7. Secure the hook and loop strap at the rear of the boot, ensuring the rear section of the fabric weave upper is between the horse’s pastern and the strap. Use the rubber keeper at the end to secure the strap.
  8. The Easyboot Transition is now securely in place.

Correct Application of Hook and Loop Straps:

EasyCare recommends attaching the hook and loop straps so they face out when applied. To change the direction of the strap, simply follow the instructions below.

  • 1. Remove the strap from under the rubber keeper, open the strap and remove it from the first D-ring. Pull the front strap completely through the center leather loop.
  • 2. Moving the rubber keeper out of the way, undo the remaining strap from itself and remove the strap completely from the second D-ring.
  • 3. For the front strap, start threading from the rear of the boot. Thread the hook and loop strap through the D-ring that will face out and fold the strap against itself so that the hook and loop material attaches. Move the rubber keeper back towards the D-ring.
  • 4. Thread the entire strap through the center leather loop (front strap only) and through the second D-ring. Fold the strap back on itself so the four hoof logo is visible. Move the rubber keeper back over the end of the strap.
  • 5. For the rear strap, start threading from the front of the boot. Follow steps 3 and 4.

Easyboot Transition Sizing & Fitting Tips

    • 1. Easyboot Transition boots are not left/right specific. EasyCare recommends attaching the hook and loop straps so they face out when applied.
    • 2. Riding your horse in Easyboot Transition boots that are not sized correctly can lead to chafing. Selecting the correct size will ensure maximum performance and hoof boot durability.
    • 3. Allow your horse time to become accustomed to wearing the Easyboot Transition boots. The first time you use the boots, start by just walking out.
    • 4. Gradually increase the duration and distance of your rides to ensure your horse becomes accustomed to the new hoofwear. Too much too soon can lead to chafing.
