Carry an Easyboot or Get a Sense of Humor!

lostshoegraphic_3.jpg

When riding long distances on a shod horse it only makes sense to carry an Easyboot along in case your horse should throw a shoe. Often a shoe may start to come loose and putting an Easyboot on before it comes off completely can reduce the chance of damage to the hoof. It’s smart to plan ahead by pre-fitting a boot to your horses hoof. If you are only going to carry one boot make sure it will fit over your horse’s hoof with the shoe on. In the event the shoe does come off you can tighten the boot or use Vetwrap to keep a snug fit. Be sure to check the measurement on the front and hind hooves to ensure that you have the proper size boot. Depending upon the difference in hoof sizes from front to rear it may be necessary to carry two different sizes.

Being able to throw a couple of Easyboots on your already shod horse can be a real benefit in some situations. Maybe you are going to be riding in a parade and you want to make sure your horse won’t slip on the pavement, or you are going to be going through some really rocky or hard packed footing that your horse isn’t used to. Many riders regularly use Easyboots over their shod horse’s hooves because they know that a lot of miles on hard or rocky footing can make even the toughest horse sore footed. Easyboots are also an excellent way to protect the entire hoof including the heel bulb. That can be important to a rider who wants to go ride in rocky terrain and their horse has been living in an irrigated pasture, or mud. You don’t have to let a cut heel bulb or tender feet keep you from riding your horse when you can easily put on a pair of boots and avoid those problems altogether!

Easyboots aren’t just for lost shoes!

With the recent advancements and new innovations in the hoof boot market in the last two or three years, horse owners are now discovering that they have an exciting new option available to them! They can now keep their horses barefoot 100% of the time and use hoof boots for riding. New boots such as the Easyboot Epic and Easyboot Bare have been developed to fit a barefoot horse better and they stay on in all kinds of terrain, even several inches of deep mud. The tread pattern on the Easyboot Bare has been designed to mimic that of a barefoot horse. Using boots in place of nailed on shoes can save the horse owner money, but even more important than the financial considerations are the exciting benefits their horses will experience by being able to live a barefoot lifestyle.

Riders in the EasyCare Hoof Boot Contest have ridden more than 17,000 miles in the 2007 ride season so far. They are using Easyboots, Epics and Bares on their unshod horses hooves and are competing “bare-booted” successfully in every distance.
