We have two Rocky Mountain Horse mares (half-sisters) who have always been barefoot and I do my own trimming. Although we don't have to use boots that often as their feet are in very good shape and can handle most terrain, we do put them on when we are riding in an area with which we are unfamiliar and we always carry our boots with us, "just in case"...(read more)
