"I recently purchased a pair of Easyboot Bares from my barefoot trimmer. I decided to "go" barefoot once Easycare came out with the gaiters for their boots. I did not want to worry about losing a boot.
I decided to go with the bares because of the more natural design and because I frequently ride in very rough and sometimes treacherous terrain.
This past April, I took my Mo. Foxtrotter on an overnight pack trip into a place called Boyer Cabin. The trail into and out of Boyer is very rocky. At one point you are dropping off the side of mountain, picking your way along a very faint, almost non-existant, trail. While you are negotiating this, your horse is walking on rocks on top of rocks. You cannot see the ground.
My horse, Monty, walked down this trail like he was walking on flat ground. I was concerned the boots might get in his way and cause him to lose his footing on this trail, but he never missed a step.
When I got back from the two day ride, consisting of about 16 hours of ride time, the boots looked "ridden in," but not even close to being worn out or needing any part replaced. Quite frankly, if your boots can make it through that ride and come out looking great, working great and my horse feeling great -- well, they can't be beat!"
